Trusted journalist "surprised" after exit update emerges on "outstanding" Aston Villa ace

It would be a surprise if Aston Villa are actively looking to sell Ezri Konsa this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The £22.5m-rated defender has been a regular starter for the Villans this season but has been linked with a move away from the club.

Despite starting 22 Premier League games this season, Football Insider believe that Villa are willing to listen to offers for Konsa this summer.

The report says that Steven Gerrard is concerned about Konsa’s “reliability” and “consistency” despite him being first-choice alongside captain Tyrone Mings this term. But Konsa has been sent off twice in recent months, which might explain why the Villa boss has some concerns about him.

Regardless, while Jones didn’t completely rule out Konsa leaving Villa this summer, he doesn’t expect the Midlands outfit to be openly looking to get rid of him.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I’d be surprised if they were putting him on the market. I can see why they might be open to an offer if it was there, but I’d be surprised if they were actively looking to move him on.”
