Tributes paid to 'gentle giant' new dad allegedly murdered in south Manchester

A family has paid tribute to a 'gentle giant' new dad who died after being attacked in south Manchester. Police said Warren Burns, 37, died in hospital on Thursday, four days after being 'assaulted by intruders' at a house on Heysham Avenue in Withington.

Brandon White, 20, of Radstock Close, Fallowfield, has been charged with Mr Burns' murder. He was due to appear at Manchester magistrates' court today (Friday).

A second man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning, while a 19-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been bailed.
