'Lightning' - Erik ten Hag sent message over Manchester United star who is frightening defenders

Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has praised Alejandro Garnacho following his 20-minute cameo in the 4-1 victory over Chelsea.

United took the lead on six minutes thanks to a brilliant Casemiro header. On the stroke of half-time, the Reds made it two through Anthony Martial's close-range strike.

It was three on 73 minutes when Bruno Fernandes won and converted a penalty in front of the Stretford End. The game was out of sight moments later when Marcus Rashford capitalised on sloppy play from the visitors.

Joao Felix pulled one back for Frank Lampard's interim side but they were thoroughly second-best at Old Trafford. Despite only appearing briefly towards the end of the match, Brown was left impressed with Garnacho's impact on the game.

Speaking about the young Argentine on MUTV, the ex-defender said: "As soon as he comes on you see the twinkle in everybody’s eyes. He’s lightning. Defenders are afraid of him."

Brown's words have been echoed by the United fanbase who have been eager to see him gain more minutes for the club. After the Wolverhampton Wanderers victory, Erik ten Hag hinted about the supporters' need to be patient.

"He has to step up, when you are going into an action or keep the ball, so decisions. But when you see all over he is a huge talent and he is brave.

"Decisions, making decisions, scanning situations, when to go into one-on-ones, get behind, when to go for goal, when to give the extra pass or when to give the assist
