Brothers charged with murder following death of 'gentle giant'
Two brothers charged with murder following the death of a 'gentle giant' could go on trial later this year. Warren Burns, 37, died following an incident at a property in Withington on May 21.
Siblings Brandon White, 20, and Damian White, 33, have appeared at Manchester Crown Court after they were both charged with murder. During a brief hearing, the pair appeared in court by video link and were not asked to enter a plea.
They will next appear in court in August. A proposed trial date was scheduled for November. Judge Patrick Field KC remanded Brandon White, of Radstock Close, Fallowfield; and Damien White, of Bredbury Road, Fallowfield, in custody.

Following his death, Mr Burns' family paid tribute to him. They said in a statement: "Warren was a much-loved son, brother, partner and father, which he absolutely loved.
"He was a larger-than-life character with a gentle soul, and he was often referred to as a gentle giant. He was very fun loving, and livened up any event he attended.
"Life will not be the same without him. It’s heart-breaking that he will never see his children grow up and experience all that life has to offer - he simply was the best, a true legend and he will be greatly missed."
