Transfer notebook as 3 Celtic youngsters head for exit door and Queen's Park eye EPL defender - Scott Burns

MacKenzie Carse is to leave Celtic with the Scotland Under-19 cap’s contract is up at the end of the season.

Carse spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Queen’s Park. The 20-year-old midfielder will now be looking for a new challenge for next term. The youngster came through the Celtic ranks and also played for their B team in the Lowland League and in the UEFA Youth League.

Winger Ben Quinn and goalkeeper Kai McLean are also set for the Parkhead exit door. Quinn impressed in the Lowland League with 11 goals for Celtic’s B team. The Irish youth international was signed from St Patrick’s Athletic in 2020. Northern Irish youth keeper McLean was signed from Motherwell back in 2021. Across the city, Queen’s Park are looking to sign Danny Imray from Crystal Palace. The Spiders want to land the right-back for next season. Boss Callum Davidson has had the 20-year-old scouted and watched. Imray has impressed with Crystal Palace’s Under-21s.

The English Premier League side now believe Imray would benefit from first-team exposure. Meanwhile, the Spiders face a fight to keep one of their own youngsters.

Celtic, Ipswich Town and Norwich City are all looking at Queen’s Park youngster Aiden McGinlay. The midfielder has impressed coming through the ranks at the Spiders.

He was signed from city rivals Partick Thistle. The youngster could be landed for minimal compensation as he has only been with the Championship outfit for a year.
