Tottenham: Update on Hotspur Way links with £60m star compared to Beckham

There is “no chance” that Tottenham are going to sign a player like Leicester City‘s James Maddison this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Antonio Conte‘s side, but Jones cannot see a switch happening at this stage.

According to The Sun, Tottenham are interested in signing Maddison in a potential £60m deal, with Conte thought to be a fan of the player.

The same outlet, however, states that north London rivals Arsenal are also keen on the attacking midfielder as Mikel Arteta looks to improve his squad.

While Leicester have not been as good as they have been in recent seasons, with the Foxes nowhere near the top four this term, Maddison has still impressed.

In 28 Premier League appearances, the England international has come up with 13 goal contributions, while he has also found the back of the net a few times in Leicester’s European campaign.

Despite his good form this season, Jones does not think Maddison is on Spurs’ radar right now and has ruled out the north London club making a move for him this summer.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the football journalist said: “I don’t think James Maddison’s on the radar at all, to be honest. As far as I’m told, there’s no chance that that’s the sort of player that they’re going to go into the market for at this stage.”
