Tottenham's Antonio Conte slams Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta for Aston Villa comments

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has hit out at Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta for his complaints about his side's fixture list.

Arteta has slammed the Premier League for their scheduling of the Gunners' upcoming games. The Champions League-chasing side travel to Aston Villa on Saturday for a 12:30pm kick off in what will be their third Premier League game in six days.

They faced Leicester City last weekend and on Wednesday night they lost 2-0 to title chasers Liverpool at the Emirates. During his media duties ahead of the game against Villa, Arteta said: "thank you to the Premier League" and called it "not fair."

But Spurs boss Conte said the Spaniard had no right to complain after Arsenal called off the north London derby back in January, despite a low number of confirmed cases of coronavirus. Conte said: "Arteta should remember the game postponed. Tottenham-Arsenal. If we speak about unfair.

When asked to elaborate, the Italian added: "In general, I think my answer is enough. If someone wants to think about fair or unfair – (it was) postponed the game, Tottenham-Arsenal, if you remember. I don’t forget this. And it’s not right to speak about fair or unfair."

Villa are this weekend looking to win three consecutive Premier League matches against Arsenal on home soil for the first time since winning four on the trot from 1975-1979.
