Tottenham: Major update emerges on Spurs' Harry Kane price-tag

Tottenham and Daniel Levy still value striker Harry Kane at over £100m, says journalist Dean Jones.

Last summer, Manchester City struggled to agree a deal with the north London club for the 28-year-old, and it looks like the Premier League champions or any other interested party could run into the same problem in the next transfer window if they make an attempt to sign him.

Kane, who was the subject of a failed £100m bid from City, could now become a target for Manchester United.

According to a report from The Telegraph last month, Mauricio Pochettino will urge the Red Devils to go after the England international if he becomes the club’s next manager.

The two, of course, had a brilliant time at Tottenham together, reaching the 2018/19 Champions League final and finishing in second place in the 2016/17 Premier League season.

Edinson Cavani’s contract is up at the end of the campaign, while there are doubts surrounding Marcus Rashford’s future, so United could very well find themselves in a position where they desperately need a new forward like Kane.

Getting Kane out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, however, will not be easy. While the England captain’s contract has moved closer to its 2024 expiry date, Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Levy’s asking price has not shifted.

Speaking to GMS, the transfer insider said: “Tottenham don’t believe that his value has dropped at all. It doesn’t really matter too much about his contract situation.

“To them, they feel that Kane, if anything, is a better player now than he was a year ago. So in their eyes, same valuation as a year ago, well upwards of £100m.”
