Tottenham 'keeping an eye' on PL maestro once valued at £90m
Journalist Pete O’Rourke believes Tottenham are keeping an eye on Brentford star Christian Eriksen but just as a former player.
The 30-year-old joined the Bees on a short-term deal in January having fully recovered from a cardiac arrest suffered at last year’s Euros and has managed to make an instant impact.
Eriksen has not disappointed since returning to the Premier League, coming up with a goal and an assist in the four top-flight matches he has played so far for Brentford.
That sole strike, of course, came in the recent 4-1 win against European champions Chelsea and would have delighted supporters at his old club for multiple reasons.
Overall, it was an impressive display on the day by the 111-cap Denmark international, who won plenty of praise from his manager after the game.
“Christian is a top player, an unbelievable character and he brings quality and calmness to the team,” Brentford boss Thomas Frank said (via Evening Standard) after his side’s west London derby victory at Stamford Bridge.

O’Rourke thinks Tottenham are taking an interest in Eriksen, who was once valued at £90m, but as a former player rather than a transfer target.
The transfer insider told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m sure they’ll be keeping an eye on his progress just as a former player, but you’ve got to be so impressed with the way Eriksen has bounced back from that life-threatening cardiac arrest that he had on the pitch, and we probably didn’t think we’d ever see him on a football pitch again.”
If Tottenham are monitoring Eriksen, the likelihood is they are doing so just to see how their former star is getting on after everything that has happened.
