Tottenham have now 'got in touch' over £152k-p/w winner; Paratici 'would be glad' to sign him

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly now ‘got in touch’ over the potential signing of Juan Cuadrado.

Cuadrado’s contract at Juventus expires in the summer, and so while his priority is to renew his current deal, his future is still up in the air, with clubs now looking to sign him up as a free agent.

Earning a whopping £152,000-per-week playing for the Old Lady, he is likely to demand a fairly hefty salary, but with no transfer fee involved, any deal could still represent a bargain for the buyer.

As per Italian football journalist Rudy Galetti, Spurs have now ‘got in touch’ with Cuadrado’s agent over a potential switch, and Fabio Paratici ‘would be glad’ to sign him, should he fail to reach an agreement with Juve over his contract:

“Tottenham got in touch with Juan Cuadrado‘s agent (Lucci) to obtain some information.

“For the player the priority is the renewal with Juventus.

“In the absence of agreement with, Paratici would be glad to welcome him.”

Lilywhites fans may question the motive to sign Cuadrado this late in his career, given that he will be 34 years of age in the summer, added to the fact that he used to play for London rivals Chelsea.

However, the Premier League title that he won with the Blues, added to the number of trophies that he has won in Italy (Transfermarkt), shows that he is a serial winner, and so a character that the North London club could really use in their dressing room if they are to finally end their own trophy drought.

Cuadrado is also more than capable of providing depth at wing-back, should Emerson Royal depart, and if Paratici likes him then he has proven with his January business that the Lilywhites should trust him.
