Tottenham fans fear the worst as Spurs unveil Harry Kane plan for last home game of season

Tottenham Hotspur have commissioned a mural of Harry Kane outside their stadium in the lead-up to their final home game of the season this Saturday.

The artwork is ostensibly to celebrate the 29-year-old becoming Tottenham's all-time record goalscorer, a feat he achieved in a 1-0 win against Manchester City on February 5, but uncertainty over his future in North London suggests this could be his last home match as a Spurs player.

Manchester United's interest in Kane has been well documented, with Erik ten Hag earmarking the England international as a priority transfer target this summer.

Kane will enter the final 12 months of his contract at Tottenham on July 1 and the striker has made no secret of his desire to win trophies - something he has not managed in 13 seasons at Spurs despite scoring 277 goals for them.

With speculation growing over Kane's future, many Spurs fans seemingly view the plans as as a hidden final farewell ahead of his summer departure.

His side were eliminated from all three cups in disappointing fashion this season, losing to Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup respectively, and AC Milan in the Champions League last 16. A run of two wins from nine in the league has also seen them fall away from the top-four race.

"It's been a difficult season," Kane told Sky Sports earlier this month. "Probably the last couple of years, the last two or three, we haven't been where we want to be as a club, so ultimately, there's some internal stuff we need to talk about."
