Tottenham: Conte will 'bring in' key signing at Hotspur Way
Tottenham will sign a goalkeeper to compete with Hugo Lloris this summer, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.
Lloris remains first choice at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but number two Pierluigi Gollini is set to return to Italy once his loan deal expires.
Following Joe Hart’s departure ahead of this season, Spurs now only have two senior shotstoppers at the club, with Gollini providing cover for Lloris.
Fortunately for Tottenham, it’s been more than two years since the Frenchman missed a single minute of Premier League football, which has restricted Gollini to playing in the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Europa Conference League.
But since Spurs have exited each of those competitions, Gollini, who’s been shaky whenever he has played, has been forced to watch on from the bench.
Overall, he’s made just 10 appearances, keeping a measly two clean sheets, despite playing against the likes of Pacos de Ferreira, Mura, and Morecambe.

As a result, he’s expected to return to Atalanta at the end of the season, and Crook reckons that Antonio Conte will sign someone to “challenge” Lloris, rather than provide cover for the 2018 World Cup winner.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “Defensively is the area where you would say they most need reinforcements. If they don’t qualify for the Champions League, it’s not going to be because of the top end of the pitch, it’s going to be because of the backline.
“I think they’ll bring in a new goalkeeper to really challenge Hugo Lloris for the number one spot.”
