Tottenham: £9m 'special talent' now 'one to watch' at Hotspur Way

Tottenham Hotspur target Mohammed Kudus ‘might be available at a much better fee’ than James Maddison, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Spurs are believed to be looking to add some extra creativity into their midfield and could turn to the talented 22-year-old in what remains of the current transfer window to do just that.

Outlet GhanaWeb has claimed that Tottenham are ‘aiming to secure the services’ of Kudus and believe his lack of game time at current club Ajax could work in their favour.

It’s believed that the north London outfit have been tracking the Ghana international for the last six months and are confident that if a deal can’t be reached before September’s deadline, then they will snap him up next summer.

Kudus is a product of Danish side Nordsjaelland’s esteemed academy and still has three years remaining on his existing deal with Ajax.

However, he is only valued at £9 million by Transfermarkt, and could be available at a significantly lower price than the £60m Leicester City are demanding for Maddison.

Tottenham have already added Yves Bissouma to their engine room over the last few months, but Kudus could add a more attacking feel to Antonio Conte’s options.

Jones has informed GiveMeSport that he believes the midfield area is ‘potentially a position’ that Spurs are ‘looking to add even more depth to’.

He told GMS: “I do believe that it’s potentially a position that they are looking to add even more depth to.

“And the signs are, I think, that he actually might be available at a much better fee than you would get someone like James Maddison at, so we’ll have to watch this space.”

Kudus may have only made 100 senior club appearances in his short career, but he is certainly not without his admirers.
