Tom Ford fans 'swear by' a scent that gets them compliments from strangers. A 30ml bottle of the iconic Black Orchid perfume is currently reduced down to £60 from £75 on LookFantastic, but as a fragrance expert, I know there's a way to snap up the scent for just over £30.

Black Orchid is an amber floral scent original crafted with women in mind but has been described as suitable for both men and women by those who have it in their perfume collections.

The Tom Ford scent was first launched in 2006 and has fruity floral opening notes of Gardenia, Black Currant, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, Bergamot, Mandarin Orange and Amalfi Lemon. In a surprising twist it also has truffle in the top notes mix which adds a grounding earthiness and sense of luxury.

The middle notes lean in further to florals with Orchid, Spices, Gardenia, Fruity Notes, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine and Lotus. The base notes are the ones that linger for the longest and it's a delicious combination of Mexican chocolate, Patchouli, Vanilla, Incense, Amber, Sandalwood, Vetiver and White Musk.
