Toffolo's purple patch, poignant celebrations and other Huddersfield Town talking points from Barnsley win

Huddersfield Town have at least four games left this season after clinching a Championship play-off spot on Friday night.

They will be hoping a fifth contest at the end of May is also on the horizon too, as they eye up a Premier League return.

The Terriers booked their place in the end-of-season lottery with a professional 2-1 win over Barnsley at the John Smith's Stadium. Whilst the result relegated the Reds, it had the home side dreaming of a top flight return after three seasons away. Goals from Jordan Rhodes and Harry Toffolo book-ended the first half before Carlos Corberan's side kept the visitors at arms length for the second half.

The only time they didn't was when Callum Styles unleashed a superb strike with virtually the last kick of the game. Here, we look at five talking points to emerge from the Yorkshire derby.

Town might not be able to quite clear their diaries for the next fortnight but they've certainly given themselves an easier job in the run-in.

This victory sealed a top-six spot for Corberan's side with two matches to spare. The worst case scenario will be they finish sixth but do not expect the Town players to simply down tools. Each player given a starting shirt will be desperate to hold onto it for the play-offs whilst others will be eager to break into the side before then.

This had the potential to be a banana skin tie against a side that were supposed to be fighting for their lives. The early goal, however fortuitous, was vital in setting the tone and the second came at a crucial juncture in effectively killing off Barnsley.

Whilst the second half was hardly a stroll, the visitors never looked like breaching the home goal until Styles' wonder strike right at the death.

Two games, two starts, two
