"To be honest..." - talkSPORT reporter drops verdict after what Leeds fans did at Elland Road

Angry chants towards the Leeds board against Brighton on Sunday were harsh, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

With Jesse Marsch’s charges trailing 1-0 late in the second half, parts of the home crowd expressed their anger towards the hierarchy with some vocal songs.

With just six points up for grabs and Leeds’ Premier League status firmly on the line, it always promised to be an anxious afternoon at Elland Road.

Unfortunately for Marsch’s men, it didn’t exactly go to plan as Leeds were outplayed for long periods and perhaps lucky that some poor Brighton finishing didn’t have them further behind than just Danny Welbeck’s opener.

The ex-Arsenal striker was one of the main culprits, missing a gilt-edge chance late on, which Leeds profited from soon after when Joe Gelhardt produced some exquisite footwork to find Pascal Struijk at the far post, and he nodded home what could prove a crucial equaliser for the Yorkshire giants.

But prior to Struijk’s last-gasp equaliser, some of the home supporters reached breaking point and were heard singing ‘sack the board‘ and ‘Radrizzani, this is on you’ with Leeds staring relegation in the face.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m not sure it was fair, to be honest. Leeds spent 16 years outside of the Premier League and it was this ownership model that got them back there.

“They certainly weren’t shouting ‘sack the board’ under Bielsa last season and if they’re saying they’re in this position because they sacked Bielsa, I don’t think that’s true.”
