Timo Glock is tipping Ferrari as championship challengers in 2022

Former Formula 1 driver Timo Glock says that Ferrari will be championship contenders this season with them possessing one of the best driver line-ups on the grid.

The Scuderia had a positive 2021 season and will be looking to build on that considerably in 2022 with the new regulations also coming and providing an opportunity for them to potentially close the gap to Mercedes and Red Bull up at the front.

Certainly, it sounds as though former Toyota driver Glock believes that the Prancing Horse can be in the picture at the sharp end this year.

“Yes, I believe they are capable of doing so,” said Glock to Sky Germany.

“From the driver pairing, they are very, very well positioned and I think the performance has shown it. It kept going up.

“They have a very, very strong driver pairing.

“[Carlos] Sainz showed it last season, [he] was incredibly strong in his first year, kept putting pressure on Charles Leclerc and in the end also placed ahead of him in the championship.”

Certainly, Ferrari have one of the best pairings in the sport in Leclerc and Sainz and if the car is quick enough this year, the two men have the talent to achieve race victories and even a potential championship charge.

All eyes, then, will be on just how quick the F1-75 gets up to speed in 2022.
