Timo Werner is expected to consider his options at the end of the season as he continues to struggle at Chelsea.

The 26-year-old forward has made just 12 appearances in the Premier League this term, with only half of them being from the start - with just the one goal to his name.

Werner, who is valued at £45million on Transfermarkt, only joined the Blues last summer from RB Leipzig, but he has struggled to adapt to life in England under two different managers.

The Germany international has shown glimpses of why so much was expected of him when he arrived over 12 months ago, but overall it's been a terribly frustrating spell for Werner.

Over the past couple of weeks, reports from his homeland of Germany have suggested that Werner is wanted by Borussia Dortmund as the Black and Yellow look to end his nightmare at Stamford Bridge.

However, fresh reports from Sky Germany are now stating that while Dortmund are still interested in the striker, his high wage demands could prove to be a stumbling block.

The German news outlet claims that if Werner was to be on the same wages as he is on at Chelsea right now, then he would become Dortmund's top earner - a figure the Bundesliga outfit are not willing to offer.

Regardless of whether Werner does leave in the summer or not,
