Tiago Araujo fee to Celtic revealed as Andriy Lunin changes Real Madrid minds and Ideguchi rises – transfer bulletin

Premiership champions Celtic have been told it will take a fee in excess of £4.2m to tempt Estoril into selling star man Tiago Araujo during the January window.

The all-action star thrives in multiple roles on the left hand side with his eye-catching form as a rampaging wing-back turning heads this season. The former Benfica youth product gambled on himself by joining the Primeira Liga side last season and it's paid off as he is now on the Parkhead radar.

Estoril's record sale was Chiquinho to Wolves for just over £4m and that lofty fee is understood to be the ball park to begin discussions over taking Araujo to the Premiership champions. Celtic struck gold with another Benfica product in Jota who starred in green and white before joining Al-Ittihad in a £25m deal over the summer. Paulo Bernardo has also been a regular Champions League fixture despite limited minutes in the Scottish Premiership. Brendan Rodgers has made it clear he is seeking quality and the 22-year-old appears to fit the bill.

Meanwhile, any January exit for Andriy Lunin appears to be on the backburner with the Ukraine international seizing his chance upon his return to the Real Madrid starting XI. The 24-year-old has started Los Blancos' last three games with Kepa nursing a thigh injury and Thibaut Courtois out for the season.

Lunin has made clear he is seeking a regular starting berth but he has impressed in the games against Cadiz, Napoli and Granada. Record Sport revealed the Premiership champions have been keeping close tabs as a possible successor to Joe Hart.
