Three youngsters in Man City training squad ahead of Man United clash with 17 players confirmed

Manchester City added three youngsters to their squad as they turned their attention to Sunday's derby with Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola granted his players two days off after City's win at Luton on Tuesday, with the squad returning to the City Football Academy on Friday for two days to get up to shape to face United at the Etihad.

Guardiola confirmed on Friday that Jack Grealish will be out until after the international break, having suffered a recurrence of his groin injury at Luton. Josko Gvardiol is close to returning, but may not be back in time to face United. In their place, three familiar academy players were called up to Friday's training session.

According to images published by the club and players, 17 players can be identified as having taken part in Friday's session - including Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and midfielder Rodri. Guardiola gave Rodri, Foden, Ruben Dias and Ederson a night off in midweek and they would be expected to return against United.

Youngsters Jacob Wright, Mahamadou Susoho and Micah Hamilton were included in the training squad, with all three having made their senior debuts this year. Hamilton and Susohoplayed in the Champions League clash at Red Star Belgrade, with Hamilton getting on the scoresheet, while Wright was a substitute in the FA Cup win over Huddersfield in January.

The trio are regular faces in senior training, with Susoho and Wright featuring for the under-19s last week in their frustrating UEFA Youth League exit at Mainz - with Hamilton too old to feature in the competition.
