Thomas Frank hopeful of keeping Christian Eriksen at Brentford beyond this season

Thomas Frank has claimed Brenford have a 'very good chance' of keeping Denmark international Christian Eriksen.

The Bees signed Eriksen in January on a six-month deal following his release at Inter Milan.

Eriksen's contract got terminated following a cardiac arrest he suffered at Euro 2020. The 30-year-old has since had an implanted cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) fitted in.

The Dane has been Brentford's standout player since joining and scored in their famous 4-1 over Chelsea last month.

Eriksen has been linked with a return to Tottenham as well as a move to Man United, Newcastle and Everton.

"I am always positive," said boss Frank about keeping Eriksen.

"I always believe we have a very good chance. I know he is happy here, he is enjoying his football. It is a decision that will be taken at the end of the season.

On how he will keep Eriksen, Frank added: "Very simple, I speak to him. We are presenting our plans and discussing it back and forth."

Brentford were on the receiving end of a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United on Tuesday and Frank admitted they were well worthy of all three points.

"We played a Manchester United team who played well today, so congratulations to them," he told Sky Sports . "I think we started well for the first five minutes but then Manchester United were on top."

And the Dane felt his charges showed their true colours as the game developed.
