This Morning slammed 'cringe' as viewers ask 'am I missing something' over 'King Charles' on show

Viewers were left asking 'am I missing something?' as they tuned into the latest episode of This Morning. The penultimate episode of the week aired at 10am and saw Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes, who continued to fill in for Holly Willougby who was forced into taking the week off sick.

During Thursday's show (April 20), there was a bit of a surprise as King Charles appeared on the programme - sort of. Phillip, 61, and Rochelle, 35, welcomed an impersonator of the monarch, whose name is also Charles, into the studio.

"He is apparently so good, he’s received the royal seal of approval from the real King himself," Phillip said when introducing Charles. He then made a legal entrance into the London-based studios with Phillip and Rochelle standing up to greet him as he went over and graciously shook their hands

Revealing how he channels his impression of the King, who is weeks away from his coronation, Charles explained: "I look for articulation of the face." He added: "If he’s in a really worried mood the neck comes into play. The hands are very important too," before demonstrating for the presenters.

He then recalled meeting the King at his 50th birthday where he said: "Well done. You're just here to get information for your act aren't you."

At the end of their chat, Rochelle curtseyed while Phillip addressed him as "your majesty" before shaking his hand. But it's fair to say This Morning viewers were baffled.

@GinaLouLoves tweeted: "My MIL has #ThisMorning on and this King Charles lookalike looks and sounds nothing like him! Am I missing something?!" @DavidEOBrien complained: "I look more like Charles than this loon on #ThisMorning - #Cringe."
