This Morning's Ben and Cat interrupted by co-star for 'breaking news' announcement
Thursday's episode of This Morning (6 February) experienced an unexpected interruption when a 'breaking news' segment took precedence, halting the show's regular proceedings.
Presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard had to pause their roles as hosts when Jeff Brazier, who often presents competition elements on the ITV morning show, appeared on screen.
While discussing previous competition winners on This Morning, Jeff made his presence known at a desk adorned with the Weekly Winners section, instructing his fellow presenters to take a short break.
"I think you look a little bit thirsty. I'm going to send you off for a drink while we have some breaking news, everyone!" announced Jeff, catching Ben and Cat off-guard.
With the presenters stepping aside, Jeff seized control: "I'm taking over because - we've referenced him already in the winners' circle - Craig from Tyne and Wear, are you there?!"
Jeff then spoke with Craig over the phone, delivering the happy news that Craig had won £200,000 in one of the show's competitions.
During their chat, Craig shared how he invested his winnings: setting aside funds for his daughters' weddings, upgrading to a new work van, and financing an extension to his house, reports Wales Online.
The interruption to the main show was brief, however, and Cat and Ben were soon back at the helm as they fronted the next segment of the daytime show.
The pair discussed fashion trends before moving on to take calls from the public regarding whether they let their pet dogs interfere in their romantic relationships.
