The Met Office says more snow will hit England over the coming days, with a blast of cold weather from the Arctic expected to bring with it more wintry conditions.
Meteorologists and forecasters have today said the cold snap will continue with snow 'for many areas'. Sub-zero temperatures have been forecast for parts of the UK along with 'snow showers' at the start of next week, especially in northern coastal areas. Parts of the UK have already seen snowfall overnight as the mercury fell below 1C.
The Met Office said on Tuesday afternoon (January 9) that more cold weather was likely through much of this week, with an increasing chance of 'wintry hazards' towards the start of next week.

The forecaster added: “The UK is under the influence of high pressure, which is bringing colder than average weather for the time of year, and a marked reduction in rainfall amounts following a wet start to January."
The plunging temperatures on Sunday and Monday triggered an amber health alert, issued by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), with a cold snap expected to last weeks. In Manchester, temperatures could drop to -2C by next Monday (January 15).
The amber and yellow health weather alerts across England, also covering the north west, are in force until Friday, which warn of an increased risk of fatalities and other 'significant impacts' across the health service.
