Fire crews descend on Deansgate in city centre with cordon in place after fire at former restaurant
Fire crews descended on Deansgate in Manchester city centre on Tuesday evening (January 9) with a cordon in place following a blaze at a former restaurant.
Personnel from the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue service attended the incident at around 4.30pm, with the area outside the building, including the pavement, cordoned off. There are reports that the road was also blocked for a short while amid the emergency services response.
Pictures from the scene show a number of fire engines in attendance outside the building, which was formerly a Mexican Barburrito restaurant. The sign above the doorway also appeared to have been damaged.
