'They were very good' - Wolves star praises Manchester United after Old Trafford victory

Wolves debutant Dan Bentley praised Manchester United for their performance as he made his Premier League debut in his side's 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford.

Goals from Anthony Martial and Alejandro Garnacho secured the points for Erik ten Hag's side. It was a timely result for United after back-to-back defeats against West Ham United and Brighton.

It gives United a four-point lead in the race for Champions League qualification. Liverpool can respond on Monday night at Leicester City but will have played a game more than United after the King Power Stadium tussle.

For Wolves goalkeeper Bentley, it was a proud moment as he made his top-flight debut against United. The 29-year-old joined from Bristol City in the January transfer window and had played second fiddle to Jose Sa until the weekend.

“From a personal point of view, I’m bursting with pride to make my Premier League debut," he told Wolves' official website. "I have contrasting emotions of personal pride and I’m really pleased to have made my debut, but I’m also disappointed that we didn’t come away with anything.

“I’m really pleased with my individual performance, but it’s always the team performance and the team result that is the most important thing, so we’re all disappointed.

“But it's nice to show people what I can do. It's not easy for all games to be plain sailing, all games are slightly different, but I pride myself on keeping the ball out the back of the net. That's the first part of goalkeeping and then you have the other things like distribution which you work on as a team to get up the pitch and retain the ball, but making nice saves is always a good thing.
