There's a power struggle brewing at Rangers as Hotline punters sense Clement and Bennett see one thing differently

Scotland's campaign at Euro 2024 may have ended in disaster, but large sections of the country were in a party mood on Sunday night after watching England miss out again on the big stage.

The Three Lions were deservedly beaten 2-1 by Spain, with substitute Mikel Oyarzabal bagging the winner four minutes from time after Cole Palmer had cancelled out Nico Williams' opener. It was a second successive defeat for England in a European Championship final under Gareth Southgate and Hotline callers were keen to stick the knife in on the beleaguered team.

Jim McClean, Rothesay,said: "It’s coming home, sorry England is coming home. Got what they deserved with their defensive tactics, thank god no Sir Gareth Southgate." Alfie Mullin, London,echoed those thoughts, stating: "Well done Spain. Hopefully that will shut the arrogant Engerland fans up until at least the next tourney", while Wullie Graham, Bristol, offered a similar sentiment by adding: "England's cocky arrogance comes back to bite them once again. The tears of despair are still wet on their cheeks, and we have Messrs Lineker and Shearer telling us they are going to win the next World Cup.

"The trouble is they have good players but not a good team. Spain deserved to win as they were a joy to watch throughout the competition. Had Pedri and Gavi been available for Spain it would been all over before half time."

But not all Hotline callers were not impressed with Scotland's joyous reaction to the events in Berlin.
