"There is a possibility..." – Journalist claims "Leeds fans could yet get excited" this summer

Leeds could target some “big names” this summer if they avoid relegation, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Jesse Marsch’s side slipped into the relegation zone following their defeat at Arsenal on Sunday and are now battling for their lives heading into their final two games of the season.

But Jones reckons that if Leeds beat the drop, their fan base could be treated to an exciting summer.

While Leeds will surely have huge aspirations heading into the summer, they simply must stay in the Premier League to avoid a potentially disastrous transfer window.

Not only are they at risk of losing the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha, but relegation will surely ruin their chances of capturing some of their main targets.

Marsch’s charges still have three games left to save their season, although the 2-1 defeat at Arsenal saw the Elland Road team slip into the bottom three for the first time since the start of October.

But Jones reckons that should Leeds do the necessary and finish above the bottom three, they could make huge strides in the upcoming window.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I know they have got other ambitions, like some of the players that are on their long term list, thinking they were going to stay in the Premier League, were big names.

“So, I think there is a possibility that Leeds fans could yet get excited about the club really going for it if they do stay up.”
