All depends on Sunday: Journalist claims 'exciting' star 'can' join Leeds United

Leeds United are in serious danger of returning to the second tier of English football on Sunday as the Premier League season draws to a close once again.

As things stand, the Whites are currently in the drop zone on goal difference, knowing they’re relying on Burnley slipping up on the final day to have any hopes of survival. Jesse Marsch’s side travel to Brentford whilst the Clarets host Newcastle.

Although their fate isn’t yet decided, plans are already being made behind the scenes on what can be done in the transfer window if their Premier League status is retained. Brenden Aaronson is a target for the Whites should they beat the drop tomorrow, according to David Anderson.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Anderson had the following to say: “If they survive, then they can get Aaronson. That deal was, obviously, quite well progressed in January, but Salzburg were adamant that they didn’t want to sell him at that moment. Don’t forget that they had that big Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

“This summer is the time when that deal can be done. He’s keen to come, and of course, you’ve now got the Marsch connection as well.”

If the American midfielder is indeed keen on coming to the Premier League as a Leeds United player as Anderson claims, you can’t see any reason why this deal wouldn’t go ahead in the summer if the Whites survive.

He has certainly had an impressive season, racking up 40 games, including six goals and 10 assists. He also has eight Champions League outings this season, so has some huge experience at just 21 years of age.
