The two Celtic records Ange Postecoglou could shatter as boss closes in on unprecedented Premiership bragging rights haul

For any team to drop points in just two of their 30 league games is the stuff of dreams. For Celtic and Ange Postecoglou, that has become a reality.

The Hoops boss initially struggled in his first few games in his inaugural season, losing three of his opening six Scottish Premiership games in charge whilst Rangers took the early advantage in the title race. Yet, following their 1-0 loss against Livingston on gameweek six until the end of the season, Celtic didn't end up on the losing side at all. Six draws and 26 wins in 32 games saw them reclaim the league title from their Govan-based neighbours, and Postecoglou set the precedent going into the current season.

One hundred and six has been the points tally to beat for six years now. Some thought it would never be eclipsed while others marvelled at Brendan Rodgers' excellence as Celtic stayed unbeaten for the entire campaign. And, even though the Hoops cannot go unbeaten this time around after the 2-0 loss to St Mirren back in September, there are still two more records to be broken.

Firstly, the much-coveted 106-point tally is within reach. Celtic have eight games left to better that record, which they will equal if they win seven of those. If they do win the eight games, that would put them on 109 points; an incredibly tally, given that a maximum of 114 were available to them with a clean slate at the start of the season.

You'd think that record, if broken, would take years upon years to be smashed - though you can never say never considering Rodgers' record was touted to stand for years.

Another incredible tally which could well be beaten is Celtic's goals scored in a single domestic league season. You can either look as this two ways - as a post-war or pre-war record.
