The telling Rangers moment in 'laughable' Fabio Silva celebration that has gone unnoticed as fan feud escalates

Fuming Andy Halliday has slapped down Fabio Silva after his celebration following his goal for Rangers against Kilmarnock.

And the former Ibrox midfielder reckons that it is telling that the Wolves loanee didn't immediately rush back to collect the ball to restart the game - having only levelled the game at 1-1 in a clash that was must-win for the Light Blues to keep their hopes of lifting the Scottish Premiership title alive. Silva netted his fifth goal for the club since his January switch from the English Premier League on Sunday - and would kickstart a turnaround for Rangers as they went on to run out 4-1 winners and cut Celtic's lead at the top of the league to three points.

But the main talking point about his antics at Ibrox came from his celebration. The forward turned to show his name on the back of his shirt while raising the shoulders towards the crowd, before making a yapping gesture as he appeared to send a message to his critics.

Asked for his 'howler of the weekend', Halliday didn't hold back telling Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: "It is almost getting to the point where I feel like I am picking on him but I am going Fabio Silva. I think I gave him it last week for his tap-in when he ended up falling, but I just don't get that celebration at all.

"I think it's needless and it was an equaliser as well - your first thought should be to get the ball back to the spot and get a second. I know it was very close to half-time, but that reaction was really poor. I think as footballers we have our critics, but at times we are our own biggest critics. I don't think Fabio Silva can feel himself that he has done enough over the last few games, so to have a dig at the fans is really poor."
