'The greats call it self belief' - Jake Paul takes swipe at Eddie Hearn as he praises Canelo Alvarez

Jake Paul has taken a swipe at Eddie Hearn after claiming Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez sees the value in the two fighting each other in the future.

The Mexican superstar heaped praise on the YouTuber as he admitted that he is ‘good for boxing‘ ahead of his T-Mobile Arena clash against Dmitry Bivol.

Boxing’s pound-for-pound king is set for a huge Las Vegas battle this weekend with Bivol’s WBA light heavyweight title up for grabs.

Canelo Alvarez, 31, hasn’t been in the ring since an 11th-round TKO over Caleb Plant last November.

The undisputed super-middleweight champion of the world has been the subject of a number of callouts on social media from the social media star-turned-boxer.

Asked for his thoughts on Paul, he said: “Maybe in two years, like he says, we can talk.

“In two years we’ll see, right?

“I hope he improves more and does a really good job.

“I’m being serious – I think he’s doing a really good job improving boxing.

“I think everything is good for boxing.

“He brings more fans to boxing. Everything is good. Everything is fine.

“He’s not crazy. It’s fine dreaming about something. You need to put goals and dreams in your mind.

“It’s okay. Like I said, it’s good dreaming.”

Upon seeing Canelo’s comments about a possible fight, Paul took to social media to respond on Wednesday night, although he also made sure to include a shot at Hearn as well.

The Problem Child tweeted: “Much respect to Canelo Alvarez here.

“Because he’s done the impossible and created his own lane and legacy he can recognize the optimism required to do something that has never been done before.

“While this interviewer and Eddie Hearn call it delusion, the greats call it self belief.

“Not everyone inherits their daddy’s company like Eddie
