Romano reveals Tottenham one of three Premier League clubs ‘keeping tabs’ on Christian Eriksen

Tottenham are one of three clubs ‘keeping tabs’ on Brentford star Christian Eriksen ahead of the summer transfer window, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Eriksen is currently on a short-term deal at Brentford but will be a free agent in the summer.

And there’s plenty of interest in the playmaker – including from his former club Spurs – after his stunning comeback following his collapse at Euro 2020.

The Denmark international scored 69 goals and claimed 90 assists in 305 appearances for Spurs before moving to Inter Milan in January 2020, and Romano has revealed that they are one of three Premier League clubs interested in the 30-year-old.

Romano told CaughtOffside: “Christian Eriksen is extremely respectful towards Brentford who believed in him at a difficult time in his career. That is why the first club to have a meeting with their agent Martin Schoots will be Brentford at the end of the current season, also because there is no automatic contract extension clause until 2023.

“There are three Premier League clubs that are well informed about Eriksen’s situation: Tottenham and Leicester are keeping tabs on it, but have not yet made any proposals because everything will depend on Christian’s decisions, who asked to wait for the end of the season. The third club is still secret.”

Eriksen was forced to leave Inter Milan as Serie A regulations prevented the midfielder from playing for them after his cardiac arrest.

And Romano added that his departure is a big regret for the Italian giants.
