The exciting reason cat animations will be projected onto buildings in Manchester this evening

We see some weird and wonderful things in this city of ours, but cat animation projections is probably a new one.

That's what you'll see if you're in the city centre on Wednesday evening as live motion projections will appear first in Manchester’s Gore Street and then on the side of the Premier Inn Hotel in Victoria Bridge.

If you're wondering what it's all about, the stunt is being done to promote a holiday campaign - bigging up the 'the beautiful nature emirate of the UAE', Ras Al Khaimah.

Ras Al Khaimah offers picturesque landscapes from its white sandy beaches to lush mangroves and mountain panoramas and is home to multiple renowned hospitality brands and hoteliers, including Waldorf Astoria, Hilton, Ritz-Carlton, Mövenpick, InterContinental and more.

The destination offers loads of adventure activities, from riding the longest zipline in the world, to hiking and stargazing in the UAEs highest campsite, and taking in the Arabian cultural treasures.

The animation, in partnership with On the Beach, is being done to promote the area to potential tourists, but also give people a chance of winning a holiday there.

Passersby will be able to scan a QR code at the locations to enter the competition, and be in with the chance to win.
