The Danilo to Rangers transfer domino effect hits fresh Feyenoord block as final Arne Slot hurdle remains

Rangers will be forced to continue their waiting game to land Danilo after Feyenoord missed out on a successor for the Brazilian.

Michael Beale has openly admitted that the 24-year-old isn't the only forward the Light Blues are talking to while the Dutch champions force the Ibrox side to wait for a final decision from Arne Slot over an exit. Boss Slot has put a major hurdle in the way of a deal as he demanded that Feyenoord sign a replacement before Danilo is allowed to leave this summer.

Slot wants cover for the Champions League with first choice striker Santiago Giminez suspended for the opening two group games. Despite the hurdles the Scottish Premiership side are expected to return to try to land Danilo this summer after seeing one bid booted out already - and the path looked to be clearing to a deal with Feyenoord set to land a successor.

Voetbal International state that Emanuel Emegha was on Feyenoord's radar this summer as they look to add to their frontline. However, the Sturm Graz attacker looks set to snub a move to the Netherlands.

The Dutch youth international will reportedly complete a move to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg in the coming days. The report suggests the Rotterdam outfit were priced out of a deal with the French side offering a package in the region of €15million (£13.1million).

It means that Rangers will have to be patient to land another striker - having already snapped up Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers in this window. Speaking on Danilo after the pre-season clash with Newcastle United, Beale said: "He's a player we like. I think a lot of people like him.

"He's not the only forward we're talking to - that's seems to be the one that's been let out. It's been more public, but there's no news on it."
