The battle is over and Celtic have won as stricken Rangers lifer fears WORST possible outcome on the Hotline
They say a healthy dose of Hotline bickering a day keeps the doctor away. Well, they don't, but they should.
You wouldn't want to be regular caller George Wilson this morning, anyway, as he's taking it in the neck from all angles. Liam Birney, Paisley, said: "You have to laugh at the irony and idiocy of George Wilson's comment in Thursday's Hotline . He talks of the Celtic fans' obsession with Rangers, oblivious to the fact that he himself is obsessing on Celtic fans himself! As for the 'taking turns to be the best team in Scotland', that argument stopped being applicable last century, George, as the records show 18 titles to six for Celtic!" And Al Beattie said: "George Wilson of West Sussex is correct in his belief that it's only a matter of time for Rangers challenging Celtic for the title, maybe in 20 or 30 years."
Gordon Ashley, Ayr, said: "Rangers fans on the Hotline dreaming that they are still a big rival to Celtic need to wake up, we still like to rub it in but it’s now a one-way rivalry, Aberdeen were our biggest challengers before the asterisk years of Souness and Murray and they are now back as our biggest threat while Rangers gambled everything and lost. The battle is over. Celtic have won."
It wasn't so defiant across the city as a report from the BBC quoting an unnamed senior figure at Ibrox has Jimmy Mac, Glasgow, concerned. He said: "A senior figure at Ibrox stated 'the importance of backing Clement and insisted there would be no knee-jerk reaction regardless of the heat from supporters if Celtic won the league this season or next.' That Rangers board have hoisted their own white flags and are a disgrace to the club and supporters, they should not be anywhere near Ibrox Stadium. None have the knowledge
