The 7 figure bonus Scotland stars will share as reward for Euro 2024 heroics revealed

Andy Robertson and his Scotland teammates will split a seven-figure bonus after sending the country to the Euros with two games to spare.

We stormed Group A winning out first five games of a qualifying campaign for the first time ever and while a defeat to Spain in Seville cooled the momentum somewhat, the damage was already done. A Spanish victory over Norway a few days later sealed our spot at Euro 2024 and that sparked a Tartan Army party ahead of Tuesday's clash with France.

There is work left to be done with positive results over Georgia and Norway crucial for momentum and to secured a place in one of the higher pots when the draw for Germany takes place in December. But now qualification is in the bag, plans can be made for the finals in June and the Scottish Sun say the players are set to divvy up a near-£1m reward for their efforts.

As part of an agreement with the SFA, Scotland players don't take an appearance fee for every game and are instead rewarded in the form of a performance-based bonus if qualifying campaigns are successful. It meant that for more than 20 years, players running out for the Scots were short-changed compared to many of their international compatriots.

But qualifying for two Euros on the bounce - another first ever - has changed that. And it's claimed a pot of almost £1m will be divvied among the players as a deserved reward for sending us there.

Once the campaign is finished, the prize pot will be split between the players on a sliding scale basis depending on how many minutes they have played in qualifying. It means the likes of Robertson, John McGinn and Callum McGregor, who have been near ever-presents, will take home more than stars who haven't featured as much.
