The 13 best performing primary schools in Greater Manchester revealed

Everyone knows that test results aren't everything when it comes to schools, but whether or not children are meeting expected standards is one of the main things they are measured on.

Using results from the end of Key Stage 2 SATs in 2023, data has been shared revealing every school in Greater Manchester where at least 90% of pupils are achieving expected standards.

Based on progress scores for reading, writing, and maths, the highest possible score is 120, and the lowest is 80. Any pupil who scores 100 or above has met or exceeded the expected standard.

Our interactive map, which you can look at below, shows the Greater Manchester schools where at least nine in 10 pupils met expected or higher standards. Submit your postcode to see the ones near you.

They include Nicol Mere School in Wigan, where nearly all pupils met expected standards (97%), and one in four (25%) achieved at a higher standard. And Gatley Primary School in Stockport, where 95% hit the expected target and more than two in five pupils (43%) achieved at a higher standard.

Gatley Primary headteacher Gemma Norman said: "We are very proud of all our pupils and their achievements, not just within the core curriculum but across the full curriculum.
