House hunters who are in search of the cheapest areas to buy a home are in luck as there are several affordable places in Greater Manchester.

Our exclusive analysis of the latest Land Registry data has now revealed the 10 postcode areas across the region with the lowest house prices at the moment.

The average house price in Greater Manchester is currently £259,570, according to the latest data, however the average property price in these areas are all less than £190,000.

Here are the 10 cheapest postcodes in Greater Manchester to buy a house right now, and how much house prices have changed compared to a year ago.:

Little Hulton is the cheapest place to buy a home in Greater Manchester. Homes in the M38 postcode area sold for an average of £153,536 each in the last 12 months, compared to an average house price of £160,595 last year.

OL8, covering Bardsley and parts of Oldham, is the next cheapest postcode in our region to buy a home. Houses sold for £159,167 each on average, although house prices have gone up by 5 percent in the last year.

Another affordable postcode area is OL1, which includes Chadderton, Higginshaw and parts of Oldham, with an average house price of £166,865 compared to £172,952 last year.

BL4, covering Farnworth, Kearsley and pats of Bolton, is also a cheap part of the region to buy a house, with the average home selling for £172,767 over the last year.

You are also likely to find more affordable homes in WN2, which cover the Wigan areas of Abram, Aspull, Bamfurlong, Bickershaw, Haigh, Hindley, Hindley Green, Ince and Platt Bridge.
