Manchester United executive committee meeting finishes as Erik ten Hag future discussed

Erik ten Hag's future as Manchester United manager remains uncertain after a meeting of the club's executive committee in London ended.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sir Dave Brailsford were seen by Sky Sports News cameras leaving Ratcliffe's Knightsbridge offices in Central London by a back door shortly before 5pm, having arrived there this morning.

The executive committee meeting had long been scheduled for Tuesday as part of Ratcliffe's desire to hold monthly discussions about the state of play at United. It was also set to be attended by co-owner Joel Glazer, chief executive Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth, technical director Jason Wilcox, board member Jean-Claude Blanc, chief operating officer Collette Roche, and chief financial officer Roger Bell.

Inside the club, the meeting was viewed as a regular executive committee meeting rather than a summit to discuss Ten Hag's future, although football performance is always on the agenda of such meetings.

United are only likely to release any formal communication from the meeting if a major decision is made, such as deciding to sack Ten Hag.

The Dutchman is under mounting pressure after overseeing the club's worst start in the Premier League era, with United lying 14th after seven games, with just five goals scored. They have won only three of 11 games in all competitions this season and only 27 of 63, dating back to the start of last season.
