Teams talk tough as Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 begins today

All is now set for the commencement of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 Phase 1, which will begin at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Edo State, today .

Hostilities will commence from 7.00 a.m, today with the men shooting off the event, just as the women will enter the fray with new comers, Delta Force, battling with Imo Grasshoppers, while Rima Queens of Sokoto will play Bayelsa Queens in the second game.

In other matches in the women’s category, Seasider Babes of Lagos will slug it out with Defender Babes of the Civil Defence, while Bendel Dynamos girls will host former champions, Plateau Peacocks of Jos.

The final match of the women category on day 1 will see champions, Safety Babes begin their defense of the league against Benue Queens.In the Male category, former champions, Niger United, will face Confluence Stars, while Safety Shooters, who were champions in 2020, will play against Benue Buffaloes.

Champions, Kano Pillars, will begin their defence of the league against Rima Strikers of Sokoto, while it is the battle of Lagos as Seasider Boys face city rivals, Tojemarine Academy

De Defenders of the Civil Defence have a point to prove as they play newly promoted Correction Boys, while Bendel Dynamos men, who just got promoted to the premier league, will play Police Machine.

The top tier handball league, in its sixth season with a new sponsor, will see 22 teams, 12 men and 10 women teams respectively begin their quest to make history in the handnall league. HFN has promised that all the matches would be streamed live on HFN TV on facebook and the YouTube channel Handball Federation of Nigeria.
