How Manchester United could line up with Erik ten Hag's dream signings
Manchester United have finally landed one of their summer targets with Mason Mount set to walk through the Carrington doors in the coming days.
Erik ten Hag is far from done with other areas of the pitch needing strengthening. Some areas are more pressing than others but the need for a striker is paramount.
Meanwhile, David de Gea’s future is still up in the air. The goalkeeper is now out of contract but remains in talks over a possible reduced-terms deal.
Ten Hag has to work with a tight budget this summer amid Financial Fair Play regulations following last year’s £225m spend which included a £85m fee for Antony. That was the second-highest arrival ever facilitated by United and a similar price could be shelled out for a new attacker.

Departures will fuel bids for arrivals with a basic budget of just £120m to play with - an amount not overly big when compared with those of top seven rivals such as Newcastle and Manchester City.
The takeover process could change the outlook. While the Glazers have refused to invest in the club, bidders Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have pledged to do so in their initial proposal statements.
If completed in time, a changeover could allow United access to wealthier funds although FFP would still need to be adhered to. The lure of a healthier wage could turn the heads of a few players, too.
