Tammy Abraham is enjoying a remarkable debut season at AS Roma.

The England international made a bold decision last summer to leave his comfort zone at Chelsea and join up with Jose Mourinho in the Italian capital.

It’s proven to be an inspired call by the player and Abraham’s performance in the Rome derby last Sunday was truly special.

The £34 million striker scored two first half goals in a 3-0 victory over Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio and he’s now scored 23 goals across all competitions in 2021/22.

That’s the most ever by a Roma player in their first season with the club, Abraham overtaking legendary figures Gabriel Batistuta and Vincenzo Montella – who both managed 21.

It’s no wonder his former Chelsea teammate Reece James was keen to stress that the striker be given the respect he deserves in a post on Instagram.
