Swansea City 3-0 Hull City: Manning, Cundle and Piroe goals earn Russell Martin's men emphatic win

Swansea City struck three times in the second-half to secure a convincing 3-0 win over Hull City.

The Swans dominated the majority of the contest but were denied by the crossbar on three occasions, with Joel Piroe and Luke Cundle both hitting the framework. But the hosts maintained their high intensity and took the lead through Ryan Manning's volley just after the hour mark.

They were two goals to the good three minutes later as Wolves loanee Cundle capitalised on a defensive howler from the Tigers to tap home his first goal for the club. And Piroe notched his fourth goal of the campaign late on to ensure Swansea went into the international break with a morale-boosting win to celebrate.

Russell Martin stuck with the same 11 that started against Sheffield United in midweek, although Michael Obafemi returned to the matchday squad in place of Jamie Paterson.

The Tigers - who went into the match on the back of three successive defeats - looked to start on the front foot in the south Wales sunshine and saw Jean Michael Seri drive at goal from distance, although Steven Benda was alert to tip the effort over the crossbar.

But the hosts had clearly done their homework and looked to inflict further misery on Shota Arveladze's side who had conceded 15 times in their previous five matches. That wretched tally was almost extended in the fourth minute as Piroe and Manning combined, only for the former's cross to cannon off the crossbar.
