Susanna Reid forced to pull out of Good Morning Britain after family emergency

Susanna Reid took an unexpected leave from her presenting role on Good Morning Britain following a family emergency on Tuesday.

Despite returning from her summer break on Monday, viewers were left anticipating her company again, only for Ranvir Singh to step in during the early moments of the programme to address Susanna's absence.

Ranvir shared with the audience: "If you're wondering where Susanna is, one of her boys has been taken ill overnight and she needed to stay with him, so we are here for you this morning."

Ed Balls stepped into co-present with Ranvir in Susanna's absence, covering various issues including phone snatch thefts and the latest news events.

This week previously saw Susanna conveying her excitement for her show return, commenting: "I love doing my job - the news agenda has been so busy and I have been avidly watching GMB while I have been off. Susanna, who shares three sons, Sam, Finn, and Jack with ex-Dominic Cotton, admitted during a GMB episode that she often gets reprimanded by her sons.

She detailed her household policy, saying: "We have a rule in my kitchen. The one time you're not allowed to look at your phone is on the dinner table. People look, and particularly with the children, and then I'll look and they'll go 'Mum mum you're doing exactly what you said not to.' And I
