Supermarket sells McDonald's McMuffin alternative for £1.50 a head and shoppers swarm for 'brilliant' breakfast deal

A budget supermarket has launched a new breakfast deal with McDonald's McMuffin style-meals for £1.50 a head.

Shoppers are rushing to get their hands on the products to make their own version of McMuffins from Heron Foods, owned by budget B&M.

The deal costs £6 altogether and includes everything you need to make four muffin meals, including:

You actually get six patties in the bag of Richmond so two people could even have a double muffin - we'll let you fight that one out.

And the cost, at £1.50 a head, works out at a fraction of the price of a single McMuffin meal, which costs around £4.39 per person depending which branch you're buying from.

Hundreds of customers have reacted to the deal on Heron's Facebook page, praising the 'brilliant' offer and tagging others in to make them aware.

"This is brill," said one, "Make your own Maccies."

"It's bloody fab that," said another. "Muffin meal costs the same and you can have four for the same price."

Even after making the meals shoppers will have some leftovers as the pack of cheese contains 10 slices and it's a 600g pack of hash browns. The deal launched at the end of October and products are subject to availability.
