Super Eagles will extract its pound of flesh, Broos warns

South Africa’s Coach, Hugo Broos, has tipped the Super Eagles to bounce back to the reckoning in Group C after next month’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, reports scorenigeria.com.ng.

 Draws against Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, followed by a surprise 2-1 loss to Benin Republic, have left the Super Eagles in a precarious position.
 Broos, who expressed surprise that the Super Eagles are lagging in the qualifying series added, however, that Nigeria has top-quality players to bounce back to reckoning.
 
Nigeria is four points behind front runners, Rwanda, South Africa, and Benin, who all have seven points after four rounds of qualifying matches in the race for automatic qualification for next year’s Mundial.
 
Last June, the Super Eagles forced a 1-1 draw with South Africa in Uyo in continuation of the World Cup qualifiers and lost 2-1 to the Benin Republic in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
 
Broos, who said the group is still very wide open, added: “I am surprised that Nigeria are four points behind us because they have too much quality.

 “I believe they will come back by the next window (March). All the teams in our group are still in the running (to qualify for the World Cup).” The Super Eagles will travel to Kigali to meet Rwanda on March 21 and return to Uyo to host Zimbabwe five days later.
