'Suggests Bielsa is staying', 'Biggest signal yet' - Many Leeds fans flock to transfer update

Leeds United fans have been reacting to claims from journalist James Marshment surrounding the potential transfer of Brenden Aaronson.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men have found themselves linked with the American midfielder in recent weeks as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the second half of the season and stay in the Premier League.

However, with so little time left between now and the end of the window, Marshment recently expressed his concern that Leeds wouldn’t be able to complete the deal in time, and that it might not be until the summer that the 21-year-old could realistically make the move to Elland Road.

Those fears appear to have been realised, as writing in an article for TeamTalk, he claimed: “Aaronson has let it be known to Salzburg officials that he wants to make the move. But with a deal off the table this month, the USA international is prepared to wait to land his dream move,” before noting that Leeds United are “reportedly confident of tying up Aaronson’s signature – but only once the current season is over”.

He relayed the news on Twitter, where it generated some interesting responses from supporters, with some of them seeing it as an indicator that Bielsa might be staying on beyond the end of the season when his contract is set to expire:

“Suggests Bielsa is staying past the summer”

Let’s just hope that they’re still in the Premier League come next season – who knows what sort of issues getting relegated might add to the deal, be it financially or whether or not Aaronson wants to even play in the Championship.
