Strictly Come Dancing 2024 star 'to see MP swap politics for the paso doble'

As the glitter and sequins of Strictly Come Dancing beckon, speculation is mounting over which celebrities will grace the dance floor in the upcoming season of the BBC favourite.

Names are swirling in the rumour mill with Helen Worth, Roman Kemp, and Hannah Waddingham tipped as potential contestants. Yet, it's MP Nadine Dorries who might be poised to trade political debates for ballroom glitz this year.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes have seen her odds for appearing on the show tumble to 5/1. Jessica O'Reilly of Ladbrokes commented: "Nadine's certainly not afraid of reality TV shows and we reckon she could soon be swapping politics for the paso doble."

Dorries, a familiar face from her stint on ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, reports the Mirror. In 2014, she expressed an interest in taking part in some more reality TV.

In a chat with Total Politics magazine, she revealed: "I definitely would do more reality stuff. My constituents absolutely love it, because they've got someone of their own, who they see in Tesco, on there... I'd love to do Strictly Come Dancing - who knows? ".

The full line-up remains under wraps, but one confirmed returnee to the Strictly stage is professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec, who after a two-year hiatus, will be back to compete in the show's landmark 20th season.

Speaking about his comeback, he expressed: "I could not be more ecstatic to be back with the Strictly family! This year is such a special one for this legendary show, I can't wait to be a part of it and make my return to the dance floor."
