Krishnan Guru-Murthy breaks silence on Strictly Come Dancing after Amanda Abbington interview

Krishnan Guru-Murthy has broken his silence on Strictly Come Dancing after his interview with Amanda Abbington about the BBC show.

Amanda suddenly left the TV competition after the pair competed on last year's series, and has since spoken out about her professional partner Giovanni Pernice. During the interview, she made claims that some of the bullying she endured from Giovanni was 'humiliating behaviour of a sexual nature'.

Pernice hung up his dancing shoes earlier this year following claims made by Amanda. He has refuted the allegations since they first surfaced.

Krishnan has since responded himself by saying he "stands by" every word he said when he was eliminated from the show last year.

Alongside his statement, he shared a photo next to his pro partner Lauren Oakley, who he went on to call "stunning". Re-sharing a post he originally posted when he left the competition, Krishnan added: "Just thought I would repost this from my last day at Strictly - as a lot of people have re-asked about my own experience. I stand by every word in the original post."

He wrote at the time: "That’s all folks. Heartbroken. Thanks for the love and support - I’m so delighted that so many people enjoyed watching us. @bbcstrictly brought me more happiness than I ever imagined. It has been life changing and life affirming.

"There is something about taking big risks, performing, giving it everything, making yourself totally vulnerable and shedding the armour you normally use to survive that is exhilarating, liberating and inspiring.

"Dancing is physically and emotionally unique. I had more fun than should normally be allowed on television." He then
